Robin Miller

Robin Miller leads the health and social care research stream at the Third Sector Research Centre. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Health Service Management Centre and is involved in teaching, research and consultancy in relation to health and social care commissioning, integration and management. He leads on the HSMC’s programme in relation to ‘Quality & Innovation in Provision’ - this has a strong emphasis on Third Sector providers, including those who have ‘spun out’ of public sector bodies such as the NHS and Local Authorities. Outside of his university role, Robin is a Trustee on the Board of a Social Investment Business.

Experience

Robin joined HSMC following a career as a commissioner and senior operational management in health and social care. A qualified social worker, he has worked in a variety of community health and social care service areas and has led strategic partnerships across public, third and private sectors.  His current research projects include the experience of public sector workers who have set up social enterprises, the experiences of older people who have undergone a time of transition and best practice in social care prevention.

BSc (Parasitology), Diploma in Social Work, Post –Qualifying Award in Social Work, Masters in Social Work, MSc in Public Sector Management
