Social Investment for the 21st Century
TSRC, the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy and the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship
Part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science
5 November 2012, 10.00-16.00
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow
Social enterprise and investment is a rapidly changing landscape. Shrinking government budgets, shifting policy focus and the global financial crisis are all having an impact.
This event invited social entrepreneurs, social investors and supporters of social enterprise - including policymakers and researchers - to discuss new and emerging forms of social investment.
How can we improve the environment and support for social investment, entrepreneurial philanthropy, social innovation, and social entrepreneurship? How can the sustainability and impact of third sector organisations be improved through social investment?
The event included presentations by the Centres’ researchers, as well as Big Society Capital and the Scottish Government.
